Submitted
by Linda in Lima, Ohio, who says
this dish is a favorite with her
kids and their friends. She serves
the Pizza Wheels with a salad and
french fries. Our grandsons, Roger
(10) and Ian (10), were not going to
be outdone by the granddaughters, so
they decided they would make this
recipe for their Opa's website. |

PREPARATION: |

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Combine eggs, milk, bread crumbs,
onion and salt. Add meat and mix
well. Shape meat mixture into
circles appx 4 to 4 ½ inches in
diameter, building a 1 inch high
edge. Place in Baking dishes.
Combine tomato sauce and pizza
seasoning. Spoon into center of
patties.
Bake in oven for appx. 30 minutes,
longer if necessary. When wheels
(circles) are done, remove from oven
and lay cheese in a spoke-fashion on
top of the patties. Turn off oven.
Return dish to oven to melt cheese,
appx 2 minutes. Serve warm.
HINTS: If you do not have a
hamburger press, form mixture into
appx 3 inch balls and use a saucer
to push down into patties. We used a
small measuring bowl to press center
of pattie to form the 1" sides. We
served this with toasted garlic
bread because Ian and Roger chose
that and loved the results of their
cooked dish! |
