GREEN BEANS |

With
garden season here, we are beginning
to pick fresh vegetables. My wife
remembered her mother preparing the
beans from their garden in this
manner, so I decided to share this
old time recipe with you. |

Cutting Board
Knife
Wooden Spoon
Garlic press
Large Skillet with
lid |

INGREDIENTS: |
2 large handfuls of
green beans, appx.
4 cups, with ends
removed
1 cup red
onions,chopped
4 slices of bacon,
cut into pieces
2 or 3 cloves of
garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
Sea Salt & Pepper |

PREPARATION: Place bacon
pieces in large skillet over
medium heat and cook until
beginning to soften. If you dont
have much grease from the bacon,
drizzle a little olive oil in the
skillet. Put in onions, stirring
mixture until onions begin to
soften. Add the garlic and stir,
cooking appx 3 minutes. Add the
green beans, about 1/4 tsp sea
salt and pepper to taste. Stir to
coat the beans. Slowly add the
beef broth to the mixture. Cover
and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook
until beans are tender, appx 25 to
30 minutes.
HINTS: These beans would go
well with recipe 17, 19 or 40 that
can be found in our archives. Hope
